We are looking for a qualified Social Worker to join our dedicated team.

With your expert skills in Social Work, your key responsibilities include:

  • Working with clients to identify their needs using a strength-based, outcome focused approach.
  • Working with individuals, children, youth, and family/whanau who present with a range of challenges and be able to work holistically building on individual strengths and promote whanau well-being.
  • Working with whanau experiencing the impacts of family violence with a focus on risk assessment and safety planning to create and support change for whanau safety and wellbeing.
  • Keeping accurate client records to provide reports or material in a professional and timely manner. 
  • Work in a culturally inclusive way, with knowledge of tikanga Maori and demonstrate commitment to Te Tiriti O Waitangi.
  • To ensure all social work support and advocacy services are provided within the professional standards and ethics as required by their professional associations.

Required Skills

  • Holds tertiary qualifications in Social Work. (Ideally with minimum 2 years work experience)
  • Registration/membership with the relevant professional body.
  • Have an understanding and appreciation of teamwork and team dynamics with good communication skills.
  • Have excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Have proficient computer skills including using outlook, excel and client management systems and data entry.
  • Have good knowledge and understanding of the complexities of how family violence impacts family/whanau.
  • Hold a current NZ driver’s license
